The AM2 Athlon 64 X2 will continue to evolve. In November, AMD will introduce three 90 nm models, the X2 5400+ and 5600+ clocked at 2.8 GHz and the X2 6000+ clocked at 3.0 GHz. The 5600+ is equivalent to the current FX-62, but the TDP is reduced from 125W to 89W.
AM2 Athlon 64 X2는 서서히 발전을 계속 할 것이다. 11월에 AMD는 2.8GHz에서 작동되는 X2 5400+, 5600+ 와 3.0GHz에서 작동되는 X2 6000+ 이 3개의 90nm 모델들을 소개할 것이다.

The transition to 65 nm will be progressive with the release in December of models clocked at 2.6 GHz max. This let us believe that like with the change to 90nm, AMD will initially have some trouble with high frequencies. The TDP will be of 65 W as compared to 98 W for the equivalent 90nm standard version and 65 W for the Energy Efficient version.

To finish, it seems that the 4x4 platform (Quad Father) will change its name from Opteron to Athlon 64 FX since it won't be available with AM2 but with Socket 1207. If this information is verified, this platform will be even less interesting because it won't be possible for Athlon64 X2 / FX processors owners to buy a motherboard and only one CPU to use it. Anyway, according to Tweakers.net, Athlon 64 FX Socket F processor would only be sold by pair.
마지막으로, 소켓 1207을 가지고 있지만 AM2에서 이용되지 않았기 때문에, 4x4 플랫폼은 (Quad Father) Opteron에서 Athlon 64 FX로 이름이 바뀔 것처럼 보인다.
만약 이 정보가 확실하다면, 이 플랫폼은 마더 보드와 그것을 사용한 단 하나의 CPU를 구매한 Athlon 64 X2 / FX 프로세서의 주인위해선 불가능할 것이므로 더욱 흥미롭지 않을 것이다.
어쨌든, Tweakers.net에 따르면, Athlon 64 FX 소켓 F 프로세서는 오로지 쌍으로 판매될 것이다.
